HOW DOES AN INVERTER SYSTEM WORK?
An inverter is basically an electrical power converter that converts direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC) from sources such as batteries or fuel cells to AC electricity. The electricity can be at any required voltage; in particular it can operate AC equipment designed for mains operation or rectified to produce DC at any desired voltage. The batteries in a house inverter system are charged with Eskom power. When there is load shedding or a power failure, the inverter automatically switches over and supplies energy stored in the battery to run the devices you want to during the load shedding. When the power comes back, the batteries are recharged before the next power failure.
